What is the Sari Hati School?
The Sari Hati school stands alone as the only entirely free education and care system for children and young adults with special needs in Indonesia.
The team here have created a sanctuary for students with Learning Difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorders and Down Syndrome, and with it a support network of friends and teachers for them to lean on and learn from.

For the first time in their lives this wonderful space provides special needs students with a chance to develop relationships and progress within an inclusive community. Friendships are formed, creativity is explored and every single student can express their talents in a safe, loving and supportive environment.
The wonderful team work tirelessly to deliver a daily routine that form the building blocks of core skills in creativity, communication and building relationships.
Each week classes of dance, yoga, gardening, swimming, meditation, cooking, sewing and arts and crafts offer students a challenge to maintain focus while developing new skills with the support of their peers.

Why you need to help
With over 60 students currently attending and over 40 on the waiting list the Sari Hati, the importance of this organisation has never been more evident and yet this truly life changing work is now under threat.
Without Sari Hati many of these special needs children and young adults will be left to care for themselves. Faced without any other means of healthcare, free education and support, many special need families struggle to offer the finance and time needed to look after their special needs family members.
Today, Sari Hati exists purely off donations and fundraising from its shop and warung.
